Channel I clinch Kool-BSJA Media football title

Channel I clinched the title of Kool-BSJA Media Cup football tournament with a 1-0 win over Jamuna Television in a keenly-contested final at Bangladesh Football Federation's artificial astro-turf on Thursday.

Shaon Ahmed scored the decisive goal in the six-a-side match, where both sides displayed bold performance but the former champions had the last laugh.

Before coming into the final, Channel I beat Boishakhi Television 5-4 in tiebreaker while Jamuna TV thrashed BanglaVision 4-0 in the semifinals.

National football team's head coach Javier Cabrera handed over the trophy and cash award of Tk 30,000 to the champions as the chief guest.  Sponsors Square Toiletries Ltd's assistant manager (marketing) Tehsina Khanom gave away the runners-up trophy and cash award of Tk 15,000 to Jamuna Television.

A total of 24 media houses, split into eight groups, took part in the round-robin format group matches before eight group champions advanced to the quarterfinals.
