Bangladesh has been a big part of our lives, says Jamie Day
Former Bangladesh head coach Jamie Day recollected some of his fond memories in Bangladesh while talking about his son Tiller Day, who decided to wear the Bangladesh football team's jersey during a school function of late.
The British coach, on Twitter on Tuesday, posted a picture of his son wearing a Bangladesh jersey with complementing red shorts and green socks. Day had also inserted two emojis--a red heart and a Bangladesh flag-- in the photo caption to display his family's love for Bangladesh.
"Bangladesh has been a big part of our lives. So we all still have good memories and like to show that," Jamie told The Daily Star today.
Tiller's outfit had his teachers and schoolmates curious and Jamie's son was delighted to reply to all their queries regarding Bangladesh and its football scenario.
"They all asked a lot of questions about the country and football kit so he was happy to give them all the information," Jamie informed.
The 42-year-old had coached Bangladesh for over three years since 2018 and takes pride in the progress that was made during his tenure.
"Had a great experience as a coach, met some fantastic people and thought we progressed football in Bangladesh. So proud of that achievement," said Jamie, who looks forward to visiting Bangladesh with his family in times to come.
"I miss the people and the kindness and support that everyone showed. I think, one day I would like to return and meet my friends and show the family where I stayed."
Having been stripped off his duty in September last year, Jamie, however, is still under contract with the Bangladesh Football Federation up to August 2022 and the two parties are apparently engaged in discussions to resolve the matter.
