An unbeaten run-a-ball 81 from Nurul Hasan Sohan in Mirpur today helped Sheikh Jamal beat Abahani by four wickets and clinch the Dhaka Premier League title for the first time since the tournament gained List A status in 2013.
Chasing a 230-run target set by Abahani, Sohan rescued his side from a precarious 150 for six as he strung together an unbeaten 82-run seventh-wicket stand with Ziaur Rahman to help Sheikh Jamal get over the line with three overs to spare.
With this win, the Dhanmondi-based club ensured the title with a game in hand.
