NZ climb to second in rankings ahead of Bangladesh Tests

Star Online Report

Thanks to Sri Lanka's incredible Test series win against South Africa, New Zealand have climbed to second in the ICC Test rankings -- their highest-ever Test ranking -- following the latest updates.

New Zealand sit at second with 107 points, nine fewer than top-ranked India. The Kiwis have the chance to hold onto their second place with the upcoming three-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Black Caps are eyeing a record-extending unprecedented fifth Test-series victory. Their series triumph against Sri Lanka was the first time they had won four consecutive Test series.

New Zealand had previously won three series in a row on four occasions, but never been able to push on and win a fourth on the trot, until overcoming Sri Lanka to close out 2018.
