Mominul departs for grade cricket in Australia, Fizz set for IL
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted NOCs to Mominul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed till December 23 for separate stints in foreign leagues.
"Mustafizur, Taskin and Mominul have all been handed NOCs till December 23," cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed.
Mominul, a veteran Test star, will be appearing in New South Wales Grade cricket in Australia. The left-hander departed for Australia in the wee hours of Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman is set to depart for UAE on Thursday to play the International League T20 (ILT20), BCB sources informed. Mustafizur will play the IL for Dubai Capitals. Taskin Ahmed has also been granted NOC to play for Sharjah Warriors, the paceman is awaiting his first game in the tournament.
Mominul will be featuring for Blacktown District Cricket Club and will play the New South Wales Premier Cricket Competition organised by Sydney Cricket Association. The tournament has a rich history and modern Australia stars such as Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have featured in the tournament in the past.
"Mominul has left for Australia to play in New South Wales Grade cricket," in-charge of cricket operations Shahriar Nafees informed.
Earlier the BCB had also granted leg-spinner Rishad Hossain to play the full season of Big Bash League which begins on December 14. While Rishad will feature for Hobart Hurricanes, Mominul, Fizz and Taskin will return back to Dhaka ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) starting from December 26.
