Argentina produced another dominant attacking display on Sunday, thrashing Burkina Faso 7-0 at the Monumental Stadium in their second friendly match of the FIFA international break.

The victory followed Argentina's impressive 4-0 win over Bolivia, giving Lionel Scaloni's side back-to-back victories and 11 goals across the two matches without conceding.

Argentina wasted little time taking control of the match. Just four minutes after kick-off, Agustín Giay was fouled inside the penalty area by Moumouni Diallo, and the referee immediately awarded a penalty.

Lautaro Martínez stepped up to take the spot-kick, but Burkina Faso goalkeeper Razak Guira saved his initial attempt. However, Martínez reacted quickly to the rebound, pouncing on the loose ball and firing it across goal with his left foot to give Argentina the lead.

It was Martínez's second consecutive goal for the national team after he also opened the scoring in Argentina's 4-0 victory over Bolivia. He now has 42 goals in 86 appearances for the Albiceleste and continues to chase Gabriel Batistuta's 54-goal tally as Argentina's second-highest scorer. Lionel Messi remains comfortably at the top of the list with 125 international goals.

Argentina doubled their advantage in the eighth minute, with Diallo again at the centre of the action. The Burkina Faso defender's attempted clearance went wrong and ended up in his own net, handing Argentina a 2-0 lead.

The hosts continued their relentless start and added a third goal in the 12th minute. Gianluca Prestianni broke into the penalty area and finished powerfully to score his first goal for Argentina.

Before the first quarter of an hour had passed, Argentina were already three goals ahead.

Nicolás Paz added the fourth in the 35th minute, making another well-timed run into space before finishing to extend Argentina's advantage.

Just one minute later, Julián Álvarez made it 5-0. His goal capped a remarkable first-half performance from Argentina, who went into the break with a five-goal advantage.

Argentina's dominance continued after the interval. In the 57th minute, Franco Mastantuono came on as a substitute and scored his first goal for the national team. The young attacker found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and calmly converted the opportunity to make it 6-0.

The goal was particularly memorable given the venue. Mastantuono had previously scored a spectacular free-kick at the Monumental during his time with River Plate, making his latest strike another special moment at the stadium.

Burkina Faso struggled to contain Argentina throughout the match, while the hosts continued to create opportunities despite their commanding advantage.

The seventh and final goal arrived deep into stoppage time. Giovanni Simeone scored in the 90th minute plus three to complete Argentina's emphatic 7-0 victory.
