The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) appointed former Bangladesh head coach and Australian batter Stuart Law as the head coach of the Bangladesh Under-19 team for the next two years. The board also roped in former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer as the batting coach of the under-19 side.

Law had previously worked as the Tigers' head coach back in 2011-12 and had led Bangladesh in the final of the Asia Cup. However, he left his job after nine months to spend time with his family.

The 53-year-old then returned again in 2016 as the technical advisor of the Bangladesh Under-19 team for the ICC Under Under-19 World Cup. Law recently worked as the head coach of Afghanistan which toured Bangladesh earlier this year.

Bangladesh won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2020, under Sri Lankan coach Navid Nawaz who later parted ways with the BCB this year and the post has remained vacant since then.

Jaffer, meanwhile, also has the experience of working in Bangladesh as the batting coach of the High-Performance Unit in 2019.  The right-handed opener played 31 Tests for India and struck three hundred and eleven fifties at an average of 34.10 before announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2020.
