Rain forces postponement of DPL matches

Star Sports Report

The matches of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League have been postponed by two days due to heavy rain in Dhaka and around the country.

There were six matches scheduled for today while tomorrow was supposed to be a rest day. However, due to heavy rain since early morning, all those matches have been postponed. The second round matches will be held on June 3, according to the new schedule as all the matches will be bodily shifted.

"The second round matches have been postponed due to rain. These matches will take place on the date scheduled for the third round matches (June 3). The matches of each round will be bodily shifted by a day," Ali Hossain, member secretary of CCDM, has said in a message sent to media today.

The league, which was originally supposed to be in 50-over format, started yesterday in 20-over format after being suspended following just one round of matches due to the second wave of Covid-19. Out of a total of six matches, only four matches were finished on the opening day while the other two were abandoned due to rain.
