BPL to start on December 19 with five teams

After weeks of speculation, the governing council of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) announced on Tuesday that the 12th edition of the tournament will begin on December 19, featuring five teams. 

The previous edition, held earlier this year, saw the participation of seven teams. The upcoming season's five-team lineup marks the lowest number of franchises in any edition of the tournament. The participating franchises are Dhaka, Rangpur, Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Sylhet.

The players draft will be held on November 17. The final will be held on January 16.

Franchises to get teams:

Toggi Sports - Rangpur 

Triangle Services - Chittagong 

Champion Sports - Dhaka 

Nabil Group - Rajshahi 

Cricket with Sami - Sylhet
