Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Faiazur Rahman resigned from his position following Saturday’s board of directors meeting, citing personal reasons.

Faiazur confirmed it to The Daily Star on Saturday, adding that he doesn't want to divulge on the matter.

"Today after the board of directors' meeting, I resigned from my position. It is completely my personal decision and I don't want to elaborate much right now on this matter" he added.

Faiazur is the fourth member of the current board to step down since January.

His resignation comes just two days after Yasir Mohammed Faysal Ashique -- who came into the board as a National Sports Council (NSC) nominated director -- stepped down on Thursday.

In January, Ishtiaque Sadeque resigned from his position citing personal reasons while last month, Amjad Hossain also stepped down from his position as a director of the BCB.

Amzad resigned citing personal reasons after being removed as chairman of the media committee, while Ishtiaque, who headed the game development committee, also stepped down on similar grounds.

Earlier, Isfak Hasan, who was nominated as a director by the NSC alongside Yasir, was removed as director after his ties with the deposed Awami League government came to light. He was replaced by renowned corporate figure Rubaba Dowla.
