Star Sports Report

Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat in their first official warm-up game for the T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 2 ground, in Abu Dhabi today.

T20I skipper Mahmudullah Riyad, who sat out Bangladesh's unofficial warm-up game against Oman A last Friday, will also be rested for today's game against Sri Lanka despite being named as a substitute.

"Riyad is nursing a slight back pain. And as we have back-to-back games in the World Cup, we are not taking any risks and will probably rest him against Sri Lanka tomorrow [Tuesday]," selector Habibul Bashar had told the media yesterday.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is yet to join the team due to his IPL involvement while Mohammad Saifuddin has been rested. Liton Das has been named the captain for the fixture.

Bangladesh XI: Mohammad Naim, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Shamim Hossain
Subs: Mahmudullah Riyad, Mustafizur Rahman
