Ankon gets maiden ODI call-up in WI series
Bangladesh have made two changes to the squad for the upcoming West Indies series with Soumya Sarkar coming into the squad along with Mahidul Islam Ankon, who got his maiden ODI call-up.
Bangladesh have left out struggling opener Mohammad Naim, who played the third ODI against Afghanistan on Tuesday. Paceman Nahid Rana, who could not complete his last over in the same game, following what appeared to be a strain, has also been left out.
Bangladesh will be without Litton Das in the upcoming ODI series. The T20I skipper had suffered a left side strain during the Asia Cup and subsequently missed the ODI and T20I series against Afghanistan.
The West Indies side arrived in Dhaka yesterday to play the ODI series starting from Saturday, October 18. The Tigers also reached the country yesterday following the 3-0 whitewash by Afghanistan and skipper Mehidy Miraz and Co. will have their work cut out to return to winning ways after a dismal ODI series in UAE.
West Indies cancelled their practice session and press conference on Thursday. Windies head coach Darren Sammy and batter Brandon King were however at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for an optional session.
