Uttara's domination continues
Table-toppers Uttara Sporting Club continued their winning run in the super league phase of the ongoing Dhaka First Division Cricket League, beating Indira Road Krira Chakra by eight wickets at the BKSP-1 ground in Savar yesterday.
In a rain-affected game, Indira Road were bundled out for 132 runs in 23 overs after being asked to bat. Liton Chandra was unbeaten on the team-highest score of 61 off just 30 deliveries with six sixes and four boundaries.
Asad Mondol bagged four while Nobin Islam and Jakarta Islam took two wickets each for the bowling side.
In reply, Sheikh Mahbub Karim top-scored with a 50-ball 67 as Uttara chased the target for the loss of just two wickets in 18 overs.
In the other rain-reduced super league encounter, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club beat Surjo Torun Club by two wickets at the BKSP-4 ground. Rupganj chased down the huge target of 182 runs in 19.5 overs after Surjo Torun posted 181 for six in 20 overs.
The other two super league games -- Kakrail Boys-BKSP at BKSP-3 and Old DOHS-Orient Sporting Club in Fatullah -- were abandoned due to rain.
