Tigers coast to victory by eight wickets
Bangladesh top-order was amongst the runs as Tigers cruised to victory by eight wickets in their first match of the tri-nation series against West Indies at Dublin, Ireland.
Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar gave Bangladesh a solid start with a 144-run opening stand before Soumya was removed for 73. Tamim and Shakib then kept the runs flowing with a fifty partnership. Tamim was removed by Gabriel after a gritty 80. Mushfiqur Rahim played some fine shots including two sixes off paceman Cottrell while Shakib at the other end notched a run-a-ball 61 to take Bangladesh over the ropes with five overs to spare in their opening match of the series.
Earlier, a fantastic effort from the bowlers at the death overs ensured that Shai Hope's third consecutive ton against the Tigers did not result in a big total for the Windies. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets while Shakib bowled economically, picking up one wicket and conceding just 33 runs in 10 overs.
Bangladesh play Ireland next on May 9 at Malahide Cricket Club Ground, Dublin.

Mehedi Miraz struck in his very first over as West Indies lost Sunil Ambris after a decent 50-ball 38. Mahmudullah Riyad leapt high at mid-off and pulled off a stunning catch to help Miraz get the breakthrough.

West Indies have won the toss against Bangladesh and elected to bat first in their second game of the tri-nation series in Ireland. Windies have one change in their lineup from the previous match as batsman John Campbell, who struck 179 in the series opener against Ireland, is out with a sore back.
Bangladesh have dropped opener Liton Das with Soumya Sarkar set to open the innings when they do bat. All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been picked for Bangladesh's first match in the tournament with Taskin Ahmed not included in the lineup after he had featured in the warm-up match against Ireland Wolves on Sunday.
