BCL 2nd round from today

The second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League, the only franchise based first-class competition in the country, is set to begin from today.

Defending champions Prime Bank South Zone will take on Islami Bank East Zone at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi while Walton Central Zone will lock horns with BCB North Zone at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.

Central registered a 77-run win over South in the first round, where off spinner Shuvagata Hom and pacer Abu Hider shared nine wickets in the second innings.

The other first round game between East and North ended as a high scoring draw with centuries from Naeem Islam, Jahurul Islam and Farhad Hossain.
