Fizz set to join BD A
Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman has begun to bowl with full run-ups in practice, a sign that the left-arm quick is nearing full recovery from a toe injury he sustained while attempting to stop a ball off his own bowling during an Indian Premier League [IPL] encounter for Mumbai Indians back in May.
The seamer, who started to bowl with full run-ups on Saturday, also practised yesterday and is scheduled to bowl with full rhythm today as a part of his rehabilitation.
According to Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] chief physician Debashish Chowdhury, if the pacer has no further issues, he will join the Bangladesh A team on the ongoing series against the Sri Lanka A team.
"Mustafizur Rahman started bowling with full run-ups from Saturday and also bowled today [yesterday] and is also expected to bowl tomorrow [today]. If there is no pain or complaints from him then we will send him for the third four-day game against Sri Lanka A on July 9. But we will assess him properly before allowing him to take part in a competitive game," Debashish told The Daily Star yesterday.
The 22-year-old was ruled out of the Tigers' Test squad for the tour of West Indies at the last moment but is now expected to join the team for the limited-overs series, which begins at the end of this month.
