Two employees of Brac Bank suffer minor injury

Two employees of Brac Bank's Gulistan branch sustained minor injuries after a blast that shook the area today, said a top official of the private bank.

Brac Bank's Gulistan branch and its SME unit are adjacent to the building where the explosion happened. The blast killed at least 15 people.

Windowpanes of our branch were shattered and two out of our 50 colleagues at the branch suffered minor injury. They have received primary treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and have gone home, said Ekram Kabir, head of communications of Brac Bank.

As banking hour was over, there was no customer in the branch, he said.

"As customers will not be able to get services from the branch because of the situation, we are urging our clients to get the services from our Nababpur branch until further notice," he said.

The branch serves around 7,000 customers.
