The decisions were taken at the university's 237th Syndicate meeting today.

Acting Registrar Prof Dr SM Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the decisions to The Daily Star.

"The syndicate has decided to dismiss one teacher from service. A high-powered committee has been formed to investigate the allegations against the other teacher," he said.

According to the acting registrar, Professor Md Rezaul Islam, of Agrotechnology Discipline, has been dismissed from service. The syndicate also formed an independent committee to investigate allegations against Professor Dr Md Rubel Ansar of the Bangla Discipline, based on recommendations from the university's Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell.
