Control food price, not opposition: Amar Bangladesh Party

Rather than controlling price of daily essentials, the government is too busy with controlling the opposition, alleged leaders of Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party on Friday.

They made the remarks at a rally held protesting price hike of essentials before Ramadan, in front of the party office in the capital's Bijoynagar.

"Whenever the Awami League government comes to power, it gives us two gifts. One is a one-party state, the second is famine," alleged AB Party Member Secretary Mojibur Rahman.

Speaking at the rally, joint convener of the party Tazul Islam, said, "They are doing whatever they want. The electricity price has gone up three times within a few days. Before the arrival of Ramadan, the prices of all kinds of products are increasing rapidly."

The leaders and activists later brought out a protest march that ended after parading different streets of the capital.
