Second victim of Moghbazar pile-up dies

Another person injured in Sunday’s pile-up at the foot of the Moghbazar flyover at Wireless Gate intersection died of his injuries yesterday.

The victim, Riyad Hossain, 21, of Narail, was a college student, said police and relatives.

He had come to Dhaka with his uncle, Zaman Ahmed, 42, to make enquiries about Ansar-VDP admission. Zaman also died in the crash on Sunday.

They were on their way to Sayedabad to catch a bus to Narail, said Babul Hossain, a relative.

Riyad died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Three others were injured in the accident after a covered van lost control and hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles.

Ramna Police Station Sub-Inspector Joy Pantho said a case had been filed over the accident.bt
