Russian worker found dead at Rooppur Green City residential area

A Russian worker was found dead at his dormitory in the Green City residential area of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant yesterday.

Police recovered the body in the afternoon and sent it to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The deceased was identified as Raibak Maksim, 30, an employee of Atomotech Energy Company working at the power plant.

He had been living in room number 31 of building number 8 in Green City.

Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Police Station Md Muminuzzaman said the worker was found dead in his dormitory when his roommate entered the room.

Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, he said.

Quoting doctors, the OC said the victim may have died of a stroke.

Following the autopsy, the body was handed over as per procedure last night, the OC said today.

However, the findings of the autopsy report were not available at the time of filing this report.
