Moon-sighting meeting set for tomorrow to fix Eid-ul-Fitr date

The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet tomorrow at 6:00pm to determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr for 1447 Hijri and sight the Shawwal moon.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad will chair the meeting.

Authorities have requested the public to report any sighting of the Shawwal moon from anywhere in the country.

Sightings can be communicated through the following telephone numbers: 02-41053294, 02-226640510, and 02-223383397. Alternatively, information may be provided to the deputy commissioner of the respective district or the upazila nirbahi officer.
