JnU suspends Bangla teacher Ferdousi Khatun

Jagannath University (JnU) has suspended Ferdousi Khatun, an associate professor of the Bangla department, and barred her from entering the campus over multiple allegations.

An office order was issued in this regard today, signed by the university's acting registrar Prof Md Sheikh Gias Uddin.

The order said she was suspended under Section 44(6) of the Jagannath University Act-2005 and Rule 12(1) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules-2018.

The suspension and campus entry ban will come into effect from today.

According to the order, the allegations include granting attendance for two classes by just conducting one class, irregularities and arbitrariness in assessment marks, and using expletive language and issuing threats to the department chair and officials of the registrar's and the vice-chancellor's office.
