Police arrested a woman on charge of killing her husband in Dhaka's Khilgaon area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman (40), employee of a shop selling poultry in the area.

Farukul Alam, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station said the couple used to live with their three children at a flat in East Goran area.

As they locked in an altercation in the morning, Rahman started beating his wife Nazma Akter (35) with a badminton racket. The upper part of the racket broke during the attack.

Nazma snatched the broken racket during the scuffle and stabbed her husband in the chest with it -- leaving him critically injured, the OC quoted her as saying.

Rahman was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.

On information, police rushed there and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue this afternoon for autopsy.

Police detained Nazma from the house.

Filing of a case is underway.
