Body of 5-year-old missing girl found in Pirojpur

Police recovered the body of a five-year-old girl from a betel-nut orchard in Indurkani upazila of Pirojpur this morning.

The deceased Laboni Akhter went missing on the afternoon of October 31, reports our Pirojpur correspondent.

Her mother Sonia Begum filed a missing case with Indurkani Police Station the next day, said Md Humayan Kabir, officer-in-charge of the station.

Police recovered the body today after locals spotted it and informed them, the OC said.

Laboni, a student of Moyeenuddin Madinatul Monwar Arabaia Madrasa in Kalaia village, was dumped in the orchard after being killed, the police official said.

The body was sent to Pirojpur District Hospital morgue for autopsy, he also said adding that the cause of the death can be known after postmortem.
