Bangladeshi expatriate murdered over ‘previous enmity’ in Ctg
A Bangladeshi expatriate was stabbed to death, allegedly by a local goon, in Patiya upazila of Chattogram.
Deceased Mohammad Mamun, 24, from South Bhurshi village in the upazila, had recently returned from a Middle Eastern country.
He was stabbed with a knife allegedly by Mohammad Fahim, from Alampur area of Dhalghat union in the upazila, around 5pm yesterday at South Bhurshi village, said locals and police.
Critically injured, Mamun was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) by locals, where he succumbed to his injuries this morning, said Mohammad Nuruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patiya Police Station.
"We are trying to arrest the accused," the OC said, adding that the victim's body has been kept at CMCH morgue for an autopsy.
However, no case has been filed over the incident as of filing of the report.
