Bangladeshi cattle trader injured during BSF firing in West Bengal
A 22-year-old Bangladeshi man was injured during firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in West Bengal's Malda district while he was allegedly smuggling cows to Bangladesh, PTI reported today.
The injured Yusuf Ahmed, a resident of Rukundipur in Bangladesh, was shot while "smuggling" cows through the Purnabhaba river near Itaghati border outpost (BOP) in Habibpur Police Station area yesterday evening, said PTI quoting sources in the paramilitary force, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
Hearing the sound of the gunshot, the remaining "smugglers" fled the spot, they said, adding that the accused is undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital.
