Man killed in bike-auto-rickshaw collision in Jashore

A man was killed and his elder brother injured as their motorcycle collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Jashore's Sharsha upazila today.

The deceased, Iqbal Hossain, 42, was a resident of Gokarna village under Dihi union and a director of Quasem Industries Limited, said Akikul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station.

According to the victim's family, Iqbal came home a few days ago to celebrate Eid with them.

He and his brother were on their way to a bus counter in the morning when their motorcycle collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Godpara area.

Both brothers were left injured, OC Akikul said.

Locals rescued them and took them to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared Iqbal dead. Moniruzzaman was given first aid.

Iqbal's body was handed over to the family without an autopsy upon their request, he added.
