3 killed in Bhola road crash

Three people were killed and three others were injured after a covered van hit a CNG auto-rickshaw on the Bhola-Charfesson highway in Doulatkhan upazila of Bhola today.

The deceased were identified as Sujit Goldar, 30, son of Nirmal Goldar, Subho Chandra, 20, son of Badal Chandra and Liton Hawladar, 38, son of Barda Kanta Hawladar of Barguna district.

Jakir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Doulatkhan Police Station, said the accident occurred around 1:30pm when the Charfesson-bound covered van hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving Sujit and Liton dead on the spot and four others injured.

Subho died on the way to Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex, said the police official.

The others are undergoing treatment at Bhola Sadar Hospital, he added.
