9 Indian soldiers killed in Ladakh as vehicle plunges into gorge

Nine Indian soldiers were killed today when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Himalayas in Leh district of Ladakh today, officials said.

The accident took place at Kerey in southern Ladakh's Nyoma this evening, said Lt Col P S Sidhu, defence public relations officer (PRO) in Leh.

The convoy was moving from Leh to Kiari when one vehicle went off-road leading to the mishap, the defence official added.
