Warning of zero tolerance to irregularities and corruption, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday said that her government did not spare anyone for such acts. “We didn't spare anyone when the question rose about irregularities and corruption,” she told the Graduation Ceremony-2012-2013 of the Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Mirpur Cantonment. Bangladesh's stance on maintaining world peace and in combating terrorism is very clear, she said, and asked the armed forces to take preparation and move onwards being imbued with that ideal. The prime minister asked the members of the armed forces to enrich themselves with the spirit of the Liberation War of 1971. The government recently signed a big deal with Russia to procure arms and ammunition to strengthen the armed forces, she added. Earlier, Hasina handed over certificates to 91 graduating officers of Bangladesh Army, 18 officers of Bangladesh Navy and 21 officers of Bangladesh Air Force as well as to 44 foreign officers from 19 countries including USA, China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka who completed their courses successfully.
