Double murder in Manikganj
Two people were murdered at Char Paltan village under Singair upazila in the district on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as Biplob Hossain, 32, son of Delwar Hossain and Abul Kalam Habu, 22, son of Alauddin of Dhalikanda village under Keraniganj upazila in Dhaka.
Biplob Hossain's brother Ilyas Hossain alleged that following a call from wife Jharna Begum, Biplob went to the house at Char Paltan village with his relative Abul Kalam Habu at around 8:30pm on Monday. There, Jharna and her accomplices killed them brutally and dumped their bodies at two separate spots of the village.
He further said that there was an illicit relation between Jharna and another youth of the village.
Police recovered the bodies in the morning and sent them to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer in-charge (OC) of Singair police station Md. Liaqat Ali told this correspondent that previous enmity might be the reason behind the murders.
There was a serious feud between Biplob Hossain and family members of his wife Jharna for the last few months, he said.
We have already arrested two people, including Jharna, the OC said.
