Fire incidents in Munshiganj and Chuadanga districts gutted at least four business establishments and four houses on Monday. A devastating fire gutted at least four business establishments and a house at Manikpur in Munshiganj town, reports our correspondent. Local fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a business house at about 8:30pm and soon engulfed the three adjacent others and a house. Vehicular movement on Mukterpur-Manikpur-Munshiganj route came to a halt for one and a half hours from 8:00pm due to the fire. In Chuadanga, fire gutted at least three houses at Bhogol Bogadi village under Bhangbariya union in Alamdanga upazila on Monday afternoon, reports a correspondent. Police and fire service sources said the fire originated from a heap of burning jute stalk at one Beltu's house. The victim families claimed that the damages caused by the fire could be worth Tk 8 lakh.
