Trade thru' Benapole resumes
The import and export activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole port resumed yesterday after a suspension of eight days due to Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja. Trade between the two countries through the land port remained halted from October 21 to October 28 because of the religious festivals of the Muslims and the Hindus, said port sources. Abdul Awal, director of Benapole port, said the import and export activities resumed in the morning. Joint customs commissioner at Benapole port Akbar Hossain, however, said the presence of businessmen for unloading their goods at the port was very thin yesterday.
