8 killed in 2 days in 4 districts

Eight people were killed in Kushtia, Thakurgaon, Narail and Jessore districts yesterday and the day before. Police recovered the bodies of two people in Sadar and Kumarkhali upazilas of Kushtia yesterday morning, reports our correspondent. Locals found the beheaded body of an un identified man in a field at Baruipara village of Sadar upazila at about 10:30am and informed the police. Police also recovered the body of a youth from Panti village. The deceased, Uzzal Hossain, 25, son of Oliar Rahman of the village, remained missing since last month. Criminals might have killed Uzzal as several marks of injury were found in the body, said the OC. In Thakurgaon, police recovered the hanging body of a man from a house at Munshipara Gorea village in Sadar upazila yesterday, reports our correspondent. The dead, Krisnakumer, 50, hailed from Bhushir Bandar village in Dinajpur. He worked at a shop named 'Babul Bastraloy' at Gorea Bazar in the upazila as manager. Locals said, shop owner Mohidul Islam recently claimed that his five employees including Krisnakumer had taken away about Tk five lakh from the shop. Mohidul filed a complaint with chairman of Gorea union parishad who asked them to pay Tk one lakh each before eid. At this, the manger took his life by hanging himself, they said. Contacted, officer in-charge of Thakurgaon police station Zahedur Rahman Chowdhury said they were waiting for the autopsy report to see whether the incident was suicide or murder. Away in Narail, A man was killed allegedly by his younger brother at Ariara village in Lohagara upazila on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Rafiq Sheikh, 28, son of Akhter Sheikh of the village, reports our correspondent. Akram Hossain, officer in-charge of Lohagara police station, said Delwar Sheikh stabbed Rofiq indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot following an altercation over family feud. In Jessore, four people including a housewife were found murdered in separate incidents in the district on Tuesday, reports a correspondent. The deceased are Anwarul Fakir, 36, son of late Aziz Fakir of North Dihi village in Fultola upazila of Khulna, Asad, 35, son of Mosharof of Jugnipasha village in Abhaynagar upazila, Salma Khatun, wife of Shaheen Hossain of Kamalpur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore and an cow lifter. Locals found the bodies of Anwarul and Asad in Tetultola area of Abhaynagar upazila in the morning and informed the police. The accused might have been stabbed to death by their rivals, said the OC of Abhayanagar PS. Locals said they found a housewife's body floating on River Mokteshhori at Kamalpur village and informed the police who recovered the body and later arrested the deceased's husband. Besides, an alleged cow lifter was killed in mob beating at Mahakal village in Abdaynagar at night. A group of cow lifters entered the house of one Amit Ghosh and tried to lift cattle. Hearing the hue and cry, neighbors rushed to the spot and caught one of the cow lifters and beat him up, leaving him dead on the spot, said OC Abdus Salek.
