Sundarbans to have 3 camps for security
Three camps will be set up in the Sundarbans to ensure safety for tourists and fishermen.
The camps, to be jointly run by police, Rab and Coastguard members, will be set up in Kochikhali, Kotka and Andharmanik areas of east Sundarbans.
Police Superintendent of Bagerhat district Khandaker Rofiqul Islam said the home ministry took the initiative.
The law enforcers will be given modern equipment for maintaining law and order, he said.
The official initiative came in the wake of increasing attacks by forest robbers on fishermen and tourists in the Sundarbans.
