Punish killers of domestic help Seema

Combine Human Rights Protection Forum of Khulna yesterday demanded exemplary punishment to the killers of a domestic help. The leaders of the forum will also submit a memorandum to the deputy commissioner in the first week of next month in favour of their demand. They made the call at a press conference at Khulna Press Club. Among others, Sheikh Abdul Quayum, convener of the forum, its coordinator Mominul Islam and Sufia Khatun, mother of the deceased, were present. Seema, 14, of Lohagara upazila in Narail district was working as a domestic help at the house of Masud Hasan in Muzgunni area under Khalishpur police station of the city from 2008. On April 4 last year, Masud along with his wife Fatema Yasmin strangled Seema and dumped her body in a canal in Dumuria upazila after she was raped by him, alleged the speakers at the conference. Following a murder case filed by Seema's mother, police arrested the couple in the city on October 14 this year, said Shah Alam, sub-inspector of the PS and investigation officer (IO) of the case. Masud, owner of Milky ice-cream factory, is also a charge sheeted accused in the case for killing of his employee Ujjal, said the SI.
