An Iswardi bound oil tanker train derailed near Chuadanga Railway Station yesterday morning, disrupting railway communications between Khulna-Dhaka-Rajshahi-Syedpur for four hours. Seven tankers of the train derailed at about 9:30am but there was no report of oil spilling, railway sources said. Ainal Hossain, driver of the train said that the train coming from Khulna derailed due to damaged railway line. Later a rescue train from Iswardi went to the spot at about 11.00 am and rail communications resumed at about 1.45 pm after the tankers were salvaged. There were around 11000 liters of octane, 8,800 litres of kerosene and 35,500 litres of diesel in the seven tankers.
