Lightning kills 5
Lightning killed three siblings yesterday and two farmers on the previous day.
Two brothers were killed as lightning struck them in Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj district early yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Ali Asgar, 22, and Yahiya, 16, sons of Sona Mia of Hossainpur village in the upazila.
Locals said Asgar and Yahiya were struck by the thunderbolt while they were fishing in the Surma River in the early hours. They died on the spot.
In Pabna, two farmers were killed by lightning in Atghoria and Bhangura upazilas on Sunday evening reports our correspondent.
The deceased are Nazrul Islam, 30, son of Abu Pramanik of village Sarutia in Atghoria and Ronju Hossain, 32, son of Kanu Hossain in Bhangura.
Locals said both of them were working at their croplands on Sunday afternoon. A lightning hit them at about 5.30pm, killing them on the spot.
