Chief judicial magistrate Abu Monsur Md. Ziaul Haque turned down the plea after the defence lawyers placed the bail prayers before the court.
The accused in the case include district nayeb-e ameer and also Sadar upazila chairman Abdul Khalek.
Police and witnesses said, on Tuesday at about 5:00pm, the Jamaat men brought out a procession in Panchagarh town protesting the arrest of Jamaat leader Maolana Abdus Subhan. After the procession, they were holding a rally in front of LG Show Room.
At that time, district unit general secretary of BCL Mizanur Rahman and Jubo League activist Md. Masum were going by the area. All of a sudden, the Jamaat and Shibir men swooped on them and gave them a good beating.
Hearing the news, the agitated BCL and Jubo League men rushed to the place and at one stage attacked Jamaat leader Abdul Khalek's house and business establishment.
The BCL-Jubo League activists also staged a roadblock, demanding arrest of the local Jamaat ameer.
