Youth stabbed to death for protesting stalking
A young man was stabbed to death by a gang allegedly for protesting stalking by them at Abad Kachua village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
The victim was identified as Manzurul Alam Prince, 30, son of former UP chairman Mahmud Hossain of Kachua union.
Police yesterday morning arrested three suspects -- Kamrul Islam and Harun-ur-Rashid, sons of Laltu Hossain and Farid Hossain, son of Badruzzaman of Khalkanda area at Abad Kachua village.
Locals and police said, Prince was returning home by a motorbike from Jessore town on Wednesday night. A local gang halted him at Rainatola point of the village, stabbed him indiscriminately and left the place immediately along with his motorbike.
Locals took him to Jessore Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer in-charge of Kotwali police station Golam Rahman said that the murder was a sequel to previous enmity.
Three days ago, Prince had beaten up the arrestees for stalking some girls of Kachua High School, said the OC, adding that police were looking for a few more youths involved in the killing.
Prince's father former UP chairman Mahmud Hossain yesterday filed a case, he said.
