23 food-poisoned at Aricha Ghat

At least 23 people fell sick after having meal at a hotel at Aricha Ghat in Shivalaya upazila yesterday morning. They were admitted to the upazila health complex. The victims were served rice with potato mesh and lentils at around 8:00am, said hotel worker Suruj, who also fell sick after taking the same items. Hotel owner Nabi Munshi blamed landlord Abdul Halim Mondal for the 'misdeed' as he was trying to evict the hotel from the place for long. Rezaul Karim, officer in-charge at Shivalaya police station, said Nabi filed a general diary against Halim in this connection.
