Bangladeshi killed in Indian Dinajpur

A Bangladeshi national, who was abducted from a bordering village in Biral upazila on Sunday evening, was stabbed to death inside Indian territory early yesterday. The victim, Md Hossain Ali, 40, was son of Lal Mia of Dharmajan village, said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources. People of Kumarpara village under Kusummandi police station of Dakkhin Dinajpur of Paschimbanga said they found Ali's body in a field, about 1.5km off Enayetpur camp of the upazila and informed police. The law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Several stab marks were found on his body, said the villagers. Family members said through a phone call from India at around 10:00am, they came to know that Ali was murdered there. Md Anwar Hossain, a villager of Dharmajan, said the victim was last seen at Kaliaganj Bazar on Sunday evening and since then he remained missing. Md Nazrul Islam, camp commander of 2BGB Battalion, said they sent a letter to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) for holding a meeting in connection with the murder but to no effect as yet.
