Students of Government Bangabandhu University College in the district town yesterday protested harassment of a female student by a transport worker. They blocked Bangabandhu Road by burning tyres and vandalised at least three vehicles at around 11:00am, demanding immediate arrest and punishment of the stalker. Victim Chameli Biswash, a second year student of Botany Department, said she boarded a bus of 'Bhaskar Paribahan' from Patkelbari on her way to college. The conductor of the bus hurled abuses at her when she gave him half of the fare for student concession. The conductor then pushed her off the bus when it reached Kuadanga bus stand of the town, said Chameli. As the news spread, the agitating students blocked the road, halting traffic movement for an hour.
