2 electrocuted
Two people were electrocuted in Chapainawabganj and Magura districts yesterday and the day before.
In Chapainawabganj, a young man was electrocuted at Shibpur-Trimohoni village in Shibganj upazila yesterday morning.
The dead, Abdul Malek, 27, was son of Syed Ali Mandol of the village, reports our correspondent.
Kabir, sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, said Malek suddenly came in contact with a live electric wire and died on the spot when he was cutting a branch of a tree near his home at around 8:30am.
In Magura, a farmer died from electrocution at Shyamnagar village in Mohammadpur upazila on Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Sirajul Islam, 42, of the village, reports UNB.
Police said Sirajul died on the spot when he came in contact with a live electric wire while cutting a bamboo near his house at around 10:00am.
