Union leader killed
A leader of Rupsha Transport Workers Union was stabbed to death in east Rupsha of the district on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Sohag, 25, son of Liakat Sheikh of Bagmara village in Rupsha upazila. Locals and police said, at around 9.30pm a criminal attacked Sohag at Bank intersection and stabbed in his chest due to previous enmity, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where the on duty doctor declared him dead. The deceased was also the bodyguard of Naihati union parishad chairman Mostofa Kamal, police said.
