2 BNP leaders suspended in Chandpur
Two leaders of the district unit BNP have been suspended on charges of their involvement in the anti-party activities.
District committee vice-president Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan and executive member Advocate Iqbal Bin Bashar were relieved of their all responsibilities on Monday, party sources said.
Besides, five other members have been served with showcause notices as their activities may tarnish party image.
Party sources said BNP Central Committee sent a message to its district office ordering suspension of Shafiqur and Iqbal on charges of their involvement in the anti-party activities.
As the news spread in the town, many supporters of the two local BNP leaders vandalised the party office at about 7pm.
