ACC sues 2 Pabna primary teachers on graft charge
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed two cases against two primary school teachers and three government officials in connection with misappropriating Tk 71,706.
Md Aminul Haque Sohel, assistant teacher of Char Radhakantapur Primary School, illegally drew Tk 44,756 while his wife Salma Khatun, assistant teacher of Baliahalat Government Primary School, received Tk 26,950 by using false cheques during 2009-2010 fiscal year, goes the statement of the case filed by Md Mosharaf Hossain, deputy assistant director of ACC, Pabna.
Three other accused in the case -- Md Joynal Abedin, former upazila primary education officer of Pabna Sadar upazila (now working in Santhia upazila), Md AKM Edris Ali, auditor of district accounts office, and Khandakar Mahafuzul Haque, former superintendent of district accounts office (now the accounts officer of Bera), were responsible for issuing false cheques to the two teachers and overwriting in their salary sheets.
“During primary inquiry we found the truth of the allegations and filed two cases with Pabna police station. The cases have been sent to the commission headquarters seeking permission for more investigation,” said Mosharaf Hossain.
