Four Jubo League men sued for rape of schoolgirl
Four Jubo League men were sued on charge of raping a schoolgirl in Bagachra Bazar area under Sharsha upazila of Jessore on Tuesday.
Victim's mother filed the case with Sharsha Police Station at around 11:30pm, accusing local Jubo League workers Kabir Hossain, 25, Moshtaque Hossain, 30, Mizanur Rahman, 20, Mohidul Islam, 32.
The victim is a class five student of Bagachra Primary School. None of the accused was arrested as of 5:00pm yesterday.
According to the case statement, Smrity Begum, one of the neighbours, took the girl to her house at Christian Para in the Bazar area while she was going to her private tutor's house in the same area at noon.
After a few minutes, the Jubo League men reached there, confined the girl inside the house and raped her. At one stage, she became senseless. When the girl regained sense, she returned home and told her mother of the matter, the statement said.
Police said Smrity Begum is also an accused in the case for abetting the rapists.
Victim's mother said the gang gave them death threat if any case is filed in this regard. The girl is now undergoing treatment at Jessore Medical College Hospital.
AKM Faruk Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station, said they are waiting for a medical test report of the victim. “All the accused have gone into hiding soon after filing of the case. We are trying to arrest them," the OC said.
Contacted, Bagachra Union Parisad Chairman Kabir Bakul said accused Kabir Hossain, Moshtaque Hossain, Mizanur Rahman and Mohidul Islam are members of the local Jubo League unit.
