<i>Criminals kill schoolboy 6 weeks after abduction</i>
A schoolboy, kidnapped in Kashiani upazila about one and a half months ago, has been murdered by the criminals.
Victim Mahfuz, 9, was a Class III student at a local kindergarten and son of Italy expatriate Rezaul Haque of Barasur village in the upazila.
Locals said, Mahfuz went missing after he had gone to local mosque on the night of Shab-e-Barat to say prayers on July 5.
Police arrested Billal Sheikh, Shamim Sheikh and Chittai of nearby Mukundapur village, following a case filed after the incident.
Some children of the village spotted the body of Mahfuz at an orchard near the house of Rezaul on Tuesday morning and informed his family members.
The family members rushed Mahfuz to Kashiani upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
The doctors said Mahfuz was killed hours ago, sometime on Monday night.
There were marks of burn injuries in different parts of the body, including the eyelids.
The family members alleged that local extortionists Billal, Shamim and Chittai had kidnapped the schoolboy and killed him.
Police arrested four others on Tuesday in connection with the killing of Mahfuz.
